The book on : The Ghanaian custom of massaging a baby’s head with hot water and ointments;
The damage to the baby’s brain development.
Conclusions.
1.A baby’s head is made up of many bones which enable the head and the brain of the baby to pass undamaged through the narrow birth canal in time of delivery.
2. The gaps and holes between the bones are covered with a tissue. No air can pass there into the baby’s head.
3. After birth we see lines on a baby’s head. They are not cracks but because of the delivery pressure, the bones of the head shifted one on top of the other. It will take few days to few weeks and the bones in the head of the baby will come back to their natural position and the head of the baby will look normal.
4. Because the head of a baby is made of many bones it enables the brain of the baby to grow fast. When we use hot water on the baby’s head and close these gaps and holes early, we do not let the brain of the baby to grow and develop to its full capacity.
The brain is made of wires that work like the electrical wires. The brain sends messages to the body through the wires and commands the body to act. The brain also thinks by using the wires. Any damage to the wires of the brain will affect the ability of the baby when the baby grows to a child and an adult to think and act.
6. The hot water damages the wires in the brain of the baby causing them to function poorly and slowly.
7. When such a baby grows, he or she will be dull and not smart.
8. Putting ointments such as Robb on the baby’s head also damage the wires in the brain.
